Sydney Convention and Exhibition Automation

Thought Studio was commissioned to automate the existing digital signage solution for the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre (SCEC).

The SCEC approached us to design an automated method of querying their existing event management system and extracting live data to create dynamic images of the event details and pushing them to the digital signage screens located around the site.

The location of the event is encoded in the data so that the screens can display wayfinder information, this information is personalised for each screen and displays the location of the room or event in relation to the screen.

The solution is a mix of several technologies. A Microsoft MVC website which is responsible for brokering the data, a Microsoft Windows executable that queries data from the event management system and an Adobe flash file that is loaded into their digital signage system and displays the dynamic data.
